Two More Retail Lab Graduates Open Brick-and-Mortar Stores
March 20, 2024
The Palmetto Market and Cellar Door Wine Shop are among a growing list of Retail Lab graduates to open brick-and-mortar stores in the area.
The Retail Lab was established at the Cabarrus Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship through a partnership between the Small Business Center at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College and the Flywheel Foundation. The program is designed to help early stage and pre-launch retail business owners through a six-week boot camp focusing on business basics, strategy, branding and marketing, e-commerce, point-of-sale and inventory, and real estate/licensing.
Chrissy Santos and her startup, The Palmetto Market, completed the Retail Lab in Spring 2022, resulting in the successful re-branding of her business as well as Chrissy’s return as an instructor for the program in 2023.
Less than two years since graduating from the Retail Lab, Chrissy Santos made the big announcement that she was opening her very own brick-and-mortar location for her startup, The Palmetto Market. Now open at 11 Cabarrus Ave W, Concord, NC 28025, The Palmetto Market is your one-stop-shop for gift shopping in downtown Concord, featuring a large assortment of creations made by Chrissy herself as well as lots of great products made by 16 other local vendors!
