Partner Spotlight: The NC Food Innovation Lab

Our primary focus at the Cabarrus Center is to support the creation of new businesses and the growth of existing small businesses through free or low-cost educational and networking programs, mentor networks, capital access, and events. We will be doing this in collaboration with a dynamic group of partners and we are very excited to introduce you to all of them!

This week, we’re shining the spotlight on our partners at The NC Food Innovation Lab!

The NC Food Innovation Lab is the nation’s only university pilot plant facility with cGMP capabilities dedicated to supporting the plant-based food innovators of tomorrow. NCFIL brings together the latest in food processing equipment, expert food scientists and partners from across the state to help established food companies and growth-phase entrepreneurs research, develop, and market their plant-based food concepts.

NCFIL collaborates with clients in the following areas: Product Research and Development; Pilot Plant Production; Training and Workshops; and Food Industry Consulting.

Their brand-new facility features state-of-the-art equipment to process grains, fruits, vegetables, and raw plant materials by every method imaginable. The product development lab and test kitchen, operated by on-staff food scientists, support formulation adjustment, and sensory analysis.

If you are interested in partnering with the NCFIL prior to the opening of the Center, connect with their team here.
